When it comes to a life of fitness, there are some things that become a necessity. Now, some people dedicated to the gym are gonna need lifting straps, or a weight-lifting belt, but others won’t. Some will need running shoes, but others won’t. However, no matter what you do in the fitness world, there are two things you use every day: a water bottle, and headphones.
As I’ve ranted on before, the commercial gyms are all part of some conspiracy that requires them to play the absolute worst music that’s ever been created. Thus, personal music is a necessity. However, a shitty pair of headphones can make things worse than if you had nothing. There’s the standard kind of headphones, but when you sweat, that soft material can get soggy, and kind of gnarly. Then there’s the giant kind, but those can slip off due to their weight if you really get into the exercise. Next up, we have the ear buds. The standard ones are OK, but I find they’re never loud enough, and fall out really easily when you start sweating. The kind that wrap around your ears aren’t bad, but if you wear a hat, they can be sort of uncomfortable, plus the sound isn’t that snug.
Of course, there’s the Beats By Dre headphones, which are f’ning ridiculous in their price. There’s no need for’em. But what there is a need for, are JVC Gumy Plus Earbuds.
They’re absolutely BRILLIANT. You see the end of the headphones? They’re made of a loose plastic, and they mold into the inside of your ear perfectly. These things sit in just like an ear plug, completely blocking out everything around you. I’ve never had headphones fit this comfortably, with such a crisp sound. I can’t hear a damn thing when these things are in. Now, along with being super comfortable and blocking out all noise, they have a switch on the chord, which you can see in the picture. So if someone starts talking, you just click that, and it pauses whatever you’re listening to. It also has a microphone, so you can answer a call if need be. I can’t gush enough about these beauties. Now, what would you expect to pay for headphones like this? $500? $1000? I’m sure you would. But they’re only $10. Hell, I’ve even seen them for less. I got mine at Wal-Mart, and I couldn’t be happier with them. And no, I’m not being paid or endorsed by these headphones, I just love them that much.
Now, when you get into fitness, you often start taking in a lot of protein as well as creatine, and you also realize how important it is to stay hydrated. So, because of this, you’re rarely seen without a water bottle. I always have mine with me. Of course, there’s a million different brands & styles out there, all of which I’ve owned, with most of them sucking. There’s the bottles that leak, or that have a super wide mouth so water spills out, or make it impossible to drink while in a car, or they have a straw that pops out that is a real pain in the ass. There’s so many things that seem to go wrong. However, I came across a water bottle about a year ago that I not only fell in love, but I plan on making my wife.
It’s the CamelBak Chute. It’s biggest boast is that it’s leak proof, and there’s no BS in that claim. I’ve had this baby for a year, and not once, not ONCE has it leaked. Not a single drop. It holds 24oz, and the mouth-size is perfect. There’s never an over-whelming amount of water, and you can drink while in a car without it trying to kill you. It’s insanely durable, and I’ve never had a single crack, fracture, you name it. It’s the Robocop of water bottles. It cost me around $20, and you can find this on amazon. I found mine at Target, and you probably could too. Again, I’m not endorsed, or being paid by these cats, I just love this water bottle so damn much.
Alright, that’s it for my gym reckos, now let’s get it…
